Busy Week of Family Fun!
I've been busy with family stuff this past week, which sometimes involved animals!
My mice and I have been at my parents's house, which means I'm also closer to some of my aunts and cousins. So when my aunt went out of state to visit her daughter, I was cat sitting for her last week.

Look at that big boi! His name is Dean and he is about thirteen years old, so my aunt is worried about leaving him alone for a long time. Especially since she lost his brother about half a year ago to cancer :( So I stayed the night at mad sure he was fine, including making sure he was eating. He's a fat boi with a Garfield-esque appetite, but he has been having some digestive issues so he is on Hill's i/d with some water mixed in to keep him hydrated. But he is a sweetie who always wants snuggles and pets!
Then, in between job searching, I was helping babysit my cousin's four boys. She was in a car accident; it wasn't much more than a fender bender but she is nearly seven months pregnant so better safe than sorry as she went to the doctors. She admits that between the accident and her pregnancy her anxiety is through the roof and I think her youngest picked up on it. He is almost five and a total mama's boy who didn't want her to leave. Luckily when I was babysitting them at my place I could have him help me feed the ABC mice, which he loved! I also show them some videos from this awesome Youtube channel called Snake Discovery, since the oldest brother (who is almost thirteen) was talking about wanting a cool pet, like a reptile! They really like the videos about her Cuban False Chameleons, so I think he wants one of them now. At least they didn't want a pet alligator ;P
(My other cousin has a daughter who just turned fourteen and now wants her own pet mice thanks to me. I am a very bad influence.)
There was one time I was babysitting them at there house, where the older two were arguing over which movie they wanted to watch. So while that was going on, I put on a show for the younger two. They had been asking me what I favorite TV show was, so of course I put on Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go! And amazingly all four of them were into it! Let me tell you, I have never been so grateful for the exposition of the theme song because it answered all the questions the boys were asking me - who were they, how did they meet, who is the bad guy, what does he want, etc. They were definitely interested during the episode, so I may have to play another one next time I babysit. I started with the first episode, so Depths of Fear would be the next one.
Finally, when I was done cat-sitting for my aunt, my sister was having some of her friends over and since she is staying at our parents as well for the summer, she needed my room to house people. So I went and spent the rest of the week at my brother's new apartment. It is always fun when we reminisce over our childhood. Like, we had to get orange juice since we are basically having a sleepover and whenever we had sleepovers growing up, Mom would always get orange juice. Or how his place is in the same part of town where we grew up, including this stock store that always stood out since it was this all wood building. After it taunting our curiosity for twenty-some years, we finally went to see what was there. There were pens of chicks there that you could go pick up, which was awesome!
I took the mice with me to Bro's, but when I was at my aunt's, they stayed at my parents who took care of them. I left there pellet food and my parents were always sure to ask me about other food to give them. It's cute how excited they get over them, especially my mom. She was so freaked out when I first got them, but once she saw how small they were and how cute their faces are? As long as she doesn't focus on their long tails (which still creeps her out), she is fine with her 'grandmice'.
